Lofton Woods Community Association Inc. is a nonprofit corporation established in 1998 under the Indiana Nonprofit Corporation Act of 1991.
Our Bylaws state, “The control and management of the affairs of the Corporation shall be vested in the Board. The Board shall discharge all duties so identified in the Restrictive Covenants. The Board shall maintain all property owned by the Corporation and perform all other duties adopted by the Board by resolution.”
Our Board includes five Directors elected by the members of the Association. Each Director serves a two-year term and is eligible for reelection. Immediately following the Annual Meeting of Association members, the Board holds an organizational meeting to elect, among themselves, a president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. The Board holds additional meetings, as needed. Minutes of these meetings are recorded and available for review upon request.
Board responsibilities include: collection of annual dues; securing vendors for mowing of Lofton Woods Park and for snow removal; paying vendors; filing annual tax returns; filing corporation update documents with the Indiana Secretary of State office every two years; maintaining the landscaping around our entrance signs and at the Park; creating and distributing neighborhood newsletters; maintaining the Association web site; overseeing the garage sale, dumpster day and contests; maintaining a complete and accurate list of all Association members.
The Lofton Woods Board of Directors volunteer their time and talents for the good of our community. They do not receive any compensation, monetary or otherwise, for their services.
